Franklin County Sheriff’s Office mourns loss of K-9 Will
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its retired K-9s.K-9 Will passed away recently after falling ill, according to the sheriff’s office. He was laid to rest on Wednesday evening.Will was a member of the sheriff’s office for more than eight years and worked alongside his partner, Sgt. Jeff Valentine. The K-9 was both a patrol dog and he helped detect narcotics.During his time on duty, he helped track, in narcotics detection and in article and building searches.The sheriff’s office said he was also featured on season three of “Live PD.”“K-9 Will was not just a working dog — he was a trusted partner, a loyal companion and a hero. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a release. “Rest easy, K-9 Will. We have the watch from here.”
