POLICE DRUG DOG WARLOCK PASSES
The Toccoa Police Department is mourning the death of one of its own. Police chief Jimmy Mize said that former police K-9 officer Warlock died on Thursday, May 16, at around 6 p.m. of natural causes. Warlock was a Dutch Shepherd from Norway. Mize said that Warlock served some 15 years doing police work — two of those years at the Toccoa Police Department — with law enforcement agencies. “During his (Warlock’s) service, he held multiple certifications in narcotics,” Mize said. “He retired earlier in 2019 with well over 200 drug cases and assists of officers.” “He will be missed,” Mize said. Warlock served with officer Eric McKinney. The police department’s newest K-9 officer is Vader, a Belgian Malinois — also assigned with McKinney.
