Died – 2/7/16
“End of Watch 12:33 pm on Feb 7th 2016. Retired MWD Uli (H333) passed away peacefully in my arms surrounded by his pack; Tammy, Jahnavi, Jasmine, and Coco. I was not expecting Uli to leave today, since Tammy and Jahnavi came over last night to give me a break from caregiving, Uli was so happy and cheerful to see his whole family back together again. This morning he had enough energy to scoot 40 feet across the house cause he wanted outside. He loved sitting in the sun on top of the snow for the time I let him. I went upstairs to get some towels so I could help him poop again today but when I came back downstairs I felt his heart start to fibrillate until it stopped. I was holding him. Uli’s prognosis last summer was very bad, the cancer had spread to 4 organs. I am very blessed that Uli got to spend 6 more months enjoying his life by using cannabis. The medical marijuana slowed down the cancer for 6 months and kept him painfree. Uli was in NO pain.” A former patrol/explosives detection dog deployed overseas, Uli retired in 2012 from his last duty station at Pearl Harbor to Colorado Springs, CO where he enjoyed civilian life but never forgot his training, and took very seriously his duties as service dog and guardian of kitties.
