K9 with Franklin Co. Sheriff’s Office dies after being hit by vehicle
A K9 with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was killed Monday after it was struck by a vehicle. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, at about 10:35 a.m. Monday, K9 Udet, and her handler, Deputy Michael Durbin, were on their way to work, in the Grove City area, when Udet saw another dog and ran into traffic where she was hit by a dump truck. Udet was taken to MedVet in Worthington where she died from her injuries. According to deputies Udet was a 3-year-old German Shepherd trained in general police work and specializing in Narcotic detection. She had been with the office for two years.
