FORMER BURTON TX POLICE K9 TUX PASSES AWAY
Retired K-9 TUX, who served Burton, Washington County TX for more than seven years, died Tuesday. TUX, born in June 2005, began her service in Burton in May 2007, until her last deployment in December 2014. TUX was originally donated by Ken Gwen and The Malloy’s, and was trained by Dave Kroyer and Jack Richards. TUX amassed over 100 arrests during her career, working with local, state, and federal agencies. TUX took over $1 million dollars’ worth of meth, cocaine, ecstasy and heroin during her time in Washington County. Some of her largest arrests included 3,000 grams of meth and 60 pounds of marijuana. TUX passed away at her home at the age of 13. A small memorial will be held at 9 a.m. at the Burton City Hall tomorrow (Thursday). She was laid to rest in Burton City Park. Handler Chief Greg Rolling.
