The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced that one of its K9s, named Taz, has died. Taz served as a narcotics detection dog from 2013 to 2021. During that time he helped deputies seize 180 pounds of meth, 40 pounds of heroin, 40 pounds of cocaine, and over $600,000 in drug money. The sheriff’s office announced that on Tuesday, Taz had been laid to rest “with his family by his side.” “Thank you, Taz, for your service to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County. You will be missed dearly,” the sheriff’s office said.
