We are saddened to announce the passing of retired NCSO Canine Taz (12/14/2010-3/4/2024)Canine Taz was a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix that was born in Hungary, and joined NCSO in February 2012. He served with two handlers during his time with us, Deputy Craig Beiter and Lt. James Hildreth. Taz obtained an array of certifications, including: advanced narcotics detection, building searches, tracking, area searches, criminal apprehensions, and tactical operations. He proved very effective throughout his career, with numerous successful searches for suspects, narcotics, officer safety deployments, and more. What Taz will be most fondly remembered for by the community, is his friendly demeanor, especially towards children. Taz was very popular at the many events he attended, and loved to spend time with the public. Taz was one of a kind, and will be sorrowfully missed. Good boy, Taz – thank you from your family at NCSO
