Weymouth Police Mourn Loss Of K-9 Scout

The Weymouth Police Department said goodbye to their beloved K-9 Scout, who had been handled by Officer Ken Murphy since 2016. Scout, a Chocolate Lab Mix, died Monday, Feb. 14, the Weymouth Police Department said. Originally from South Carolina, Scout became part of the Weymouth Police Department’s family six years ago, after he was tested and accepted to Narcotics School. From there, Scout helped in numerous narcotics searches in and around Weymouth, working closely with narcotics detectives over the years, the department said. “K-9 Scout was able to find not only purpose, but a wonderful life of service and love with the Murphy family and our community,” the department said. “‘Tis better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all’ is a fitting quote for Scout, a little rescue dog….who found a big life.”
