K9 Sato – New Windsor, New York

Handler – Officer Brian McLean

What major loss New Windsor Police Department dealing with?

There really is a lot of truth behind the saying “man’s best friend”. A relationship between a Police Officer and their K-9 is very special and it really is a bond that can never be broken. I have seen this first-hand with my brother who is a K-9 Officer and his dog is not only his partner, but has also become a cherished family member to him. My brother’s K-9 goes with him pretty much everyone and it’s really special to see the bond they have developed. It’s devastating when a K-9 passes away and one local Police Department is mourning the huge loss. The New Windsor Police Department is mourning the loss of their retired K-9 Sato. K-9 Sato had a very impressive career and served with Town of New Windsor Police Department from 2014 until his retirement 2022. If you check out the picture above you can see what a beautiful dog he was, how can you not melt when you see him? The handler for K-9 Sato was Officer Brian McLean and our thoughts go out to him and his family during this difficult time, I’m sure he is just heartbroken. It’s so very sad. The only words we can say are thank you so much K-9 Sato for your dedicated service to the New Windsor Police Department and keeping the Hudson Valley safe, rest easy now.
