Huber Heights police mourn K9 Sammy

The Huber Heights Police Department is mourning the loss of a K9 cop. Sammy was battling several health issues since his retirement from the force in February 2014. He and Officer Aaron Harlow were a team on the streets from 2003 until Sammy’s retirement. Huber Heights police escorted the partners to the animal hospital Friday where handlers and police lined the sidewalk to pay a final tribute to Sammy. Officers say they will remember Sammy for his narcotics detection skills and visiting with children at area schools.
