Handler – Sergeant Bryan Baxter
The Connecticut Police Work Dog Association (CPWDA) is sad to announce the passing of retired K9 Paco at the age of 14 years old on 9/5/24. K9 Paco was born in Holland and imported to the Czech Republic before coming to the United States. He served the Madison Police Department with distinction for 9 years, retiring in March 2020. K9 Paco was certified in Patrol and Narcotics and was an integral member of the K-9 Unit. K9 Paco’s contributions to deterring crime and protecting his handler were invaluable. The town of Madison was undoubtedly safer due to Paco’s dedication to the mission. Sergeant Bryan Baxter and his crime fighting K9 Paco, joined the C.P.W.D.A. on 1/14/12 and became Lifetime Members on 1/24/13. K9 Paco we will miss you and we thank you for your service to Madison Police Department and the citizens of Madison. He may have left Sergeant Baxter’s life, but he will never leave his heart. CPWDA sends our thoughts and prayers to Sergeant Bryan Baxter, his family, and the entire Madison Police Department and friends during this difficult time. Thank you, K9 Paco for your dedication, and loyalty. Rest in peace Paco.
