K9 Nody – MWD

Died – 2/8/16

RIP EDD Nody (2022). It is with great sadness that Explosive Detector Dog Operation Cell (EDDOC) RAAF Base Amberley announce the passing of EDD Nody. Nody was the first ever dog teamed with a RAAF Handler on the United States Air Force Specialised Search Dog (SSD) course held at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, United States in 2011. Nody graduated SSD course the same year and posted to RAAF Base Amberley Australia with his new handler SGT David Miller as an Explosive Detector Dog Team.
Re-teaming with his new handler FSGT John Kingston in 2013, Nody dutifully served and performed on various inter-agency exercises with distinction until he was diagnosed with cancer in early 2016.
