Airport K9 Dies
Airport Police held a commemoration ceremony for the department’s 11-year-old K9 officer that died in December from complications while recovering from surgery. Marco, an 11-year-old Belgian Malinous, was remembered during the ceremony at 3 p.m. at the Airport Expo Center, 3900 McCauley Drive.Marco serve with the airport’s K-9 unit for 10 years and his handler was Sgt. Ted Priest. “We are grateful for the service Marco provided to the airport and the region and incredibly sad to hear of his passing,” said Terrence Slaybaugh, director of Dayton International Airport. “We look forward to the opportunity to honor his life and service at a ceremony this week.”
