Mobile County Sheriff’s Office K-9 dies after tracking down burglary suspect
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is down a member of their team after a K-9 died after tracking down a burglary suspect.According to a news release, the K-9 who died was Malice, a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois K-9 Deputy with MCSO.MCSO officials said he died on Sunday, June 30, after he collapsed while assisting another agency in tracking down a burglary suspect.Malice was a dual-purpose K9 with the department who seized 10 pounds of meth and over 12 pounds of marijuana in addition to participating in community events with the Drug Education Council of Mobile, the release said.“Malice was not only a loyal partner, he was a trusted and loved member of my family,” Deputy Jantzen Ward, who was Malice’s handler, said. “He will be missed and never forgotten.”
