Handler – Lt. Mike Fink

The South Euclid Police Department is mourning the death of retired K-9 Kolbe, who proudly served the city from 2013 until his recent retirement.K-9 Lt. Mike Fink shared 12-year-old Kolbe’s health “rapidly deteriorated this weekend and it was not fair to allow the old warrior to suffer. He passed away next to a beautiful lake in my arms and with his family and friends at his side.”K-9 Kolbe served as a founding member of the EDGE SEAT Tactical K-9 Program, SEPD said, and was deployed on more than 250 high risk operations. When his four paws weren’t just enforcing the laws, K-9 Kolbe regularly visited Adrian Elementary School where he and his partner “got to know the wonderful students and teachers,” according to Lt. Fink.“I will miss him, but am proud of the work we did and the lives we touched. Until Valhalla…,” Lt. Fink stated.
