Luce Co. Sheriff’s Office Lays K9 Karo to Rest
The Luce County Sheriff’s office has announced the death of one of their K9s.On Friday, K9 Karo was laid to rest. The Sheriff’s Office says that tumors took over his body very quickly, and the difficult decision was made to end his pain and suffering. It is never an easy decision, especially when you spend time training and bonding as a team together.K9 Karo was given to the department by Northern Michigan K9 in 2017 and was a joy to have as a pet and partner.K9 Karo was certified and a member of the National Association Of Professional Canine Handlers and was given the rank of SGT within the Luce County Sheriff Department, meaning he actually out ranked most of the Deputies.K9 Karo would also work shifts with his handler on Marine Patrol , working inland waterways and Lake Superior. Karo was 9 years old at the time of his passing.
