Retired Cincinnati K-9 officer Ike dies after years of service
After years of service, one of Cincinnati’s four-legged finest has died, officials with the Cincinnati Police Department said Friday. Ike, who was retired from service, has died. He was a partner of Officer Ken Kobers, and the fourth K-9 officer purchased by The Matt Haverkamp Foundation. The foundation was established in 2005 in remembrance of K-9 police Officer Matt Havercamp. Since its inception, the foundation has purchased 57 K-9s for police departments across the nation and raised more than $450,000. The Cincinnati Police Department is encouraging the public to make a donation to the foundation in Ike’s honor.
