Walla Walla County Sheriff K-9 passes away

The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office (WWSO) is saddened to advise that active duty K-9 Gudy, partner to Sgt. Dale Preas, unexpectedly passed away this morning at Washington State University Veterinary Hospital. K-9 Gudy was born on September 21, 2009 in Slovakia. He received his initial training in the Czech Republic and was imported to the United States by Adlerhorst International. Gudy was personally selected by Sgt. Dale Preas and purchased by the Walla Walla Sheriff’s Foundation with citizen donated funds in November 2012. Gudy was donated to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office and has been in service as a patrol canine with Sgt. Preas ever since. K-9 Gudy was a tremendous asset to the Sheriff’s Office and our community. He is credited with helping to make our county safer by tracking and locating numerous criminals throughout his six years of service. Gudy loved going to work, he loved meeting members of our community, he loved the Fair, and loved being with the many students he met over the years. He was a credit to police canines everywhere and the law enforcement profession. Gudy’s partner Sgt. Dale Preas stated, “Gudy was an unconditional friend and loved the work he did. He was the best partner a guy could have.” Thank you WWSO K-9 Gudy for your six honorable years of service to Walla Walla County.
