K9 Falco – Orange County, California

Died – 4-2-2020

Deputy G. McCann

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Seven year old K9 Falco passed away yesterday after a long battle with an injury, and related illnesses, he sustained during a track last year. Falco had an amazing career, and never wavered in his selfless service to the citizens of Orange County. Falco was deployed 293 times. He tracked 149 suspects, resulting in 107 suspect surrenders and five apprehensions. He was deployed on 99 narcotic searches resulting in locating and seizing over 40 pounds of methamphetamine, nine pounds of cocaine, five pounds of marijuana, and two pounds of heroin. K9 Falco also performed for thousands of people in countless public demonstrations. Falco was fearless in protecting the citizens of Orange County and beyond. He was touched countless lives, and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy McCann, the McCann family, as well as the entire OCSD. Rest easy Falco, for this is not goodbye, rather Until We Meet Again. We will never forget you Falco.
