Vancouver police dog dies 2 months after retiring
A recently retired Vancouver police dog has died. Vancouver police reported Tuesday “with great sadness” that K9 Officer Enzo had passed away. Enzo retired on April 18 and spent the majority of the time since his retirement with his handler, Officer Brian Viles, and his family, the department said. “Our hearts go out to them and all those that knew and loved Enzo,” Vancouver police said in a statement. Enzo went into service for the police department on October 24, 2012. During his deployment, he was responsible for 662 suspect deployments, 159 drug searches, 35 evidence searches, 149 total captures, 76 SWAT deployments and 81 public demonstrations.
