Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office announces death of K-9
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced the death of their K-9, Dolar.Officials said Dolar died “unexpectedly today while at a training session,” according to a news release. They said the dog served the community “with dedication and distinction” and that Dolar was assigned to the Cleveland County Detention Center to detect narcotics.Officials said an investigation is underway into the dog’s death and that more information would be released once available.Dolar, a Labrador retriever, joined the sheriff’s office in 2020.“We are devastated by the loss of K-9 Dolar,” said Cleveland County Sheriff Chris Amason. “Not only was he a remarkable working dog, but he was also a beloved member of our family. His contributions to our department and the community will never be forgotten.”Officials with the sheriff’s office said a memorial service will be held for Dolar and that details would be announced soon.
