A police K-9 was killed during an investigation involving multiple agencies Wednesday night in Lebanon Junction. It’s unclear what time or where in Lebanon Junction the incident happened, but Lt. Col. Jason Paulley, Shepherdsville assistant chief of police, confirmed the investigation in a statement late Wednesday. Chief Rick McCubbin said in the statement that Shepherdsville police were among those involved in the investigation that resulted in shots being fired.One suspect was struck, but that individual’s condition is unknown, officials said. McCubbin confirmed in the statement that one of his police department’s K-9 officers was shot and killed during the incident. The K-9 was identified as K9 Dash. Kentucky State Police has been called in to handle the investigation in Lebanon Junction.
