Greene County Deputies Say Goodbye to County’s First K9
Greene County’s first k-9 was laid to rest on Thursday. Deputies said goodbye to Dar Thursday afternoon. James Inlow, the former deputy who picked up Dar from the airport years ago, and trained him, had some words of encouragement to new dog handlers with the sheriff’s department. “And to you new handlers out there, that are getting ready to experience working with one of these animals, we all work with officers that we think are always going to have our back, but you now have something that will definitely be a bullet sponge for you guys and that will do it day in and day out,” Inlow said. Here you see Sheriff Jim Arnott receiving a flag in Dar’s honor. Dar died Monday from cancer. He began law enforcement training in 2009. Dar was trained in narcotics, tracking, and protection. He was 11 years old.
