CPWDA is sad to announce the passing of retired Hamden Police K-9 Cesare who was 14. He served the department loyally beside retired officer John Battick from 2003-2012. One highlight of Cesare’s career occurred in 2007, when his assistance in a UPS drug investigation led to the seizure of 13 kilograms of heroin. K-9 Cesare served a proud and distinguished career with the Hamden Police Department and will be greatly missed by everyone in the community. K-9 Cesare was a loyal and fearless partner that was always willing to go into harm’s way, so that a human officer could remain safe. Our thanks to Cesare for his loyal service, and our condolences go out to Officer Battick and his family. Officer Battick and K9 Cesare joined the CPWDA on 1/14/05 and were members until the begining of 2007.
