UWPD mourns death of “#1 Dog in the State” K9 Casey
The UW-Madison Police Department bid farewell to one of their own.K9 officer Casey, who was with the department for over a decade, died Sunday, officials announced. Casey had spent the last five years in retirement with Capt. Cherise Caradine and her family. Casey was a hard worker and an incredible dog, In addition to her drug detection expertise, she had attained level III tactical obedience. “We’ll always know her as ‘The #1 Dog in the State’ — a self-given title that we think fits her perfectly.Casey was renowned for her drug detection abilities and tactical obedience. Thank you for your many years of service, Casey — and for making campus a better, safer place. We’ll miss you dearly.Our thoughts are with the Caradine family during this incredibly difficult time.
