K9 Capo Takes His Final Journey
The Cheyenne Police Department sadly announced that they had to say goodbye to retired K9 Capo, Monday, June 28, due to an ongoing medical condition. At 4:30 p.m., a police escort took place from West Prosser Road to the Broadmoor Veterinary Clinic located at 4218 East Pershing Boulevard. The area had a significant police presence to honor K9 Capo on his final journey. During his career, K9 Capo assisted the patrol division with deployments resulting in the safe apprehension of suspects, recovery of illegal narcotics, and evidence. In 2016, K9 Capo was awarded a lifesaving medal for saving his handler, Officer Koeppel, during an attack. K9 Capo retired from the Cheyenne Police Department in June 2019 after seven years of service to the City of Cheyenne. The Cheyenne Police Department thanks and salutes K9 Capo for his service and said Capo will be truly missed.
