Retired K9 Bak Dies After 9.5 Years With Harford Co. Sheriff’s Office
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of retired Harford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Bak. Bak served loyally alongside his handler Senior Deputy Shawn Forton from May of 2010 until December of 2019, and was assigned to the Harford County Detention Center as a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics detection K-9. Together with Senior Deputy Forton, Bak was part of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Patrol K-9 Class 1. During his service, he was responsible for 2 apprehensions of disorderly inmates and over 30 CDS recoveries, making him a valuable asset to our Agency and community.Bak will be deeply missed, not only by his handler and colleagues, but also by those he protected and served. He has left a lasting mark on the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, and we will forever be grateful for his dedicated service. Rest in peace, Bak.
