Retired VPD drug dog dies
Retired Victoria Police Department K9 Baco died March 23, just short of his 11th birthday. He served the department from October 2008 until his retirement in September. At his retirement he was already showing signs of aging and had difficulty getting around, according to a news release from the police department. His handler was Detective Jason Stover. “Baco was an outstanding member of our department, aiding in countless police operations. We were fortunate to have had him with the department for so long and he will be missed, ” said Victoria Police Chief J.J. Craig. Baco will be buried at Memory Meadows Pet Memorial Park at a later yet to be determined date, according to the news release.
