Handler – Deputy Casey Henderson

K9 Ava served with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office and was laid to rest after battling serious health issues. Our thoughts and prayers go out to K9 Ava’s partner, Deputy Casey Henderson, fellow officers and family. Thank you K9 Ava for your service. Run free warrior girl – you have earned your wings.

From K9 Ava’s partner:

Today we said goodbye to my partner “K9 Ava”, as we sat holding her while she took her last breath after battling health issues for the past few months. K9 Ava served the citizens of Webster County as K9 since 2011 where she was apart of the Webster County Sheriffs Office & recently with the Eupora Police Department. K9 Ava was responsible for many drug arrest and thousands of dollars of drug money being seized throughout her career. I purchased K9 Ava at 5 months old to train her and ask her to do these things and she done it lovingly every single time we went out on patrol. K9 Ava loved kids and visiting the schools and daycares. Mostly she loved my family and I will be forever grateful for her being apart of our lives and touching us the way she did.
