Kane County explosive detection K9 passes away
A Kane County police dog has died.A news release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office says that K9 Arko, who retired on March 1, died peacefully with his handler and other members of the k9 community.Arko had been with the department since 2016 and was imported from Hungary. Arko served as an explosive detection K9 and performed over 300 sweeps during his time.Arko’s handler, Lt. Michael Wilgosiewicz says that he heard from multiple suspects after the fact that they would have fought with him, fled, or otherwise tried to harm him if he didn’t have his K9 partner by his side.
