Died – 1/15/21
CWD Heky EDD Kuwait gained his warrior wings at 9:24pm on January 15, 2021. We were so happy that Heky was breathing better and it seemed nasal tumor was decreasing. He was doing great. Friday when I came home at lunch. Heky had thrown up all his breakfast and his abdomen was tight. I rushed him to our Dogtor and X-Rays revealed issues with this intestines and colon that didn’t look good. We rushed him to the Emergency Clinic and they found his entire colon was twisting and starting to cause twisting of the small intestine. Although all his blood work came back normal, the condition was so severe the chance of surviving a surgery was well below a 50% chance due to the length of the surgery. The percentage was even lower to have a quality of life afterward, if he survived due to the nasal adenocarcinoma. When I was finally allowed to see him, his eyes told us it was time to gain his warrior wings so we allowed him to go with dignity. He is now pain free and young again with his warrior brothers. I never dreamed the happy loving Heky I left Friday morning would be gone from my arms Friday night. He was an amazing dog that spent 7 years in Kuwait as an Explosive Detection Dog. When he was retired in December of 2016, Mission K9 Rescue brought him home and cared for his medical needs. CWD Heky EDD. 12-15-08 to 01-15-2021. Always honored. Never forgotten. Forever Loved.
