Handler – Deputy Garvin
Inga, a nationally recognized and awarded bloodhound, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning due to natural causes. She was nearly 14 years old. Inga had been retired from her K9 duties for the past three and a half years and was enjoying life in the country with her handler, retired Deputy Garvin. During her years of service with Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Inga saved countless lives through her numerous finds. As part of her day to day work with our Department, Inga trailed countless miles searching for missing persons, lost hikers and fleeing suspects. She traveled to Northern California to participate in man hunts and was available for special call outs as part of a team with the California Office of Emergency Services. Inga, we thank you for your years of service to the people of Riverside County!
