K9 Bullit – Hillsborough County, Florida

Died – 7/29/20
Handler – Deputy Christopher Grecco

K9 Bullit passed away after battling cancer. K9 Bullit was a 13-year-old Dutch Shepherd. He worked as a Patrol and Narcotics Detection Canine for 9 years and retired from Hillsborough County in 2017. During his career, he apprehended hundreds of felons and was responsible for many narcotic arrests. During one of his earliest and most impressive catches, K9 Bullit located a suspect that had eluded capture in Tampa. TPD requested our assistance after the suspect had badly battered one of their officers. The suspect had been passed by multiple times until K9 BULLIT sniffed him out under a pile of leaves in a Tampa park! After retiring, K9 Bullit enjoyed doing whatever his family was doing, even if it was just yard work — he was happy to be included! He enjoyed family vacations to the mountains and loved a good trip to Chick-fil-A. He will be dearly missed by his family and former handler, K-9 Deputy Christopher Grecco.
