State Police announce long-time K9 passed away due to illness
Pennsylvania State Police have announced the death of a long-time K9 officer. Members of Troop N, Fern Ridge, said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that K9 Micho, an 8-year-old German Shepherd passed away due to illness. Troopers say Micho served with PSP since 2013 and was assigned to Corporal Anthony Doblovasky for his entire career. Micho had a storied career as a drug detection canine as he was directly involved with numerous high-profile investigations. Micho’s work helped PSP seize nearly $15 million in currency, drugs and other contraband. In addition to his drug detection skills, Troopers say Micho was also certified as a human tracking canine. Micho was successfully deployed in several criminal and missing persons investigations as well. Troopers say he was a beloved member of the Troop N Camp Cadet program and will be deeply missed.
