K9 Ike – Waterford, Connecticut

Died – 1/9/20
Handler – Master Trainer Daniel Lane

C.P.W.D.A. is sad to announce the passing of retired K9 Ike who was euthanized on 1/9/20 who worked alongside his partner Master Trainer, Officer Daniel Lane, with the Waterford Police Department. Although this was not a decision Dan or his family wanted for the partner he loved, it was a tough decision but the right one to stop his partner’s suffering and do what was best for him. K9 Ike served the Waterford Police Department from 2010 – 2018 and joined the CPWDA on 1/26/11 as Lifetime Members. K9 Ike was certified in Patrol & Narcotics. and was almost eleven and a half years old at the time of his passing. CPWDA sends our thoughts and prayers to Officer Lane, his family, the entire Waterford Police Department & friends during this difficult time. K9 Ike we thank you for your service and once you get to heaven, find a fellow officer. “Tell him you are a police K-9 and you are reporting for duty”.
