‘Loyal partner’: Lakeland police say goodbye to beloved K-9
The Lakeland Police Department is grieving after the loss of a beloved K-9 officer. K-9 Tiberius died last week. He served Lakeland from 2010 until his retirement in 2016. Tiberius was a dual-certified dog, which means he was trained in both patrol and bomb detection. The department said Tiberius was a “loyal partner to the humans that loved him, both on the job and off.” “Rest in Peace Sweet Boy,” Lakeland police wrote on Facebook. “Hope you’re playing somewhere with your favorite Kong toy, running free from pain.” The department also expressed sympathies to the Rauch family, who adopted Tiberius after his retirement.
