Handler – Fire Marshal Joe Bracamonte
It is with great sadness that the Globe Fire Department announce the passing of Arson K-9 Unit “Frank.” Frank passed away on Sept. 10 after a long battle with a terminal illness. Frank was the Globe’s Fire Department’s first-ever arson detection dog. He served on active duty from 2007 to 2011 in that capacity until being retired and given to his handler, Joe Bracamonte. Frank will be remembered and missed by the community and especially by the children in the local schools, where he was a big hit. He played an important role in many arson investigations, not only in our community, but in many other counties in Arizona. A special thanks goes out to the City of Globe, Globe Fire Department, Globe Police , Gila County Sheriff K-9 Unit, Tonto Apache K-9 Unit, Tri-City Fire, Globe JROTC, Lamont Mortuary, and the many citizens and organizations that have helped support the K-9 project throughout the years.
