Massachusetts State Police mourning loss of retired K9 Magnum
Massachusetts State Police are mourning the loss of one of their retired four-legged partners, K9 Magnum. Massachusetts State Police Lt. James Bigelow announced Magnum’s passing on Facebook Tuesday morning. “We were two weeks shy of his fifteenth birthday, and feel blessed that we had him as long as we did. I will always love you, my partner. Rest in peace,” Bigelow said. Magnum joined the force in 2005 and was certified in patrol and narcotics detection. “Together this team had numerous finds in Central and Western Massachusetts, including locating two subjects wanted for separate stabbings,” Bigelow recalled. Magnum retired after serving Massachusetts for 10 years. He spent his retirement at home with Lt. Bigelow.
