2 retired Colorado Springs K-9 officers pass in the same week
It was a rough week for the Colorado Springs Police K-9 Unit, as they said goodbye to two of their retired K-9 officers. According to the K-9 Unit, Canine Hunter and Canine Max were both retired before they passed this week. Hunter served the city for six years before retiring, he was laid to rest on June 14. Max served the city for five years and retired with Officer Donovan last year. Max had been diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis several years ago. Spondylolisthesis is a disease that causes the bones in the spine to slip out of position until the dog can no longer move. Max was laid to rest on June 15.
