Handler – Officer Scott Nielsen
Retired Provo Police K9 dies
A retired K9 officer with the Provo Police Department died last week. Officials say K9 Loki retired in October of this year after faithfully serving for six years. Loki and his partner Officer Scott Nielsen helped put the bad guys behind bars with an innumerable amount of drug searches and suspect encounters. “Loki’s nose led officers to hundreds of drug seizures of all sizes. He found everything from small drug stashes, to two pounds of well-hidden methamphetamine inside a car bumper, to four pounds of marijuana inside a car tire,” a post on Facebook said. Officers at the police department said Cub Scouts loved to come to the station to meet Loki and learn about police work.
