Handler – Cpl. Brian Stewart
Plainfield police mourning loss of K-9 officer
The Plainfield Police Department is inviting the public to pay respects to a K-9 officer that recently had be put down. Police say they had to say goodbye to the K-9 named Aren, because he had health issues. Aren’s handler, Cpl. Brian Stewart, along with veterinary doctors made the tough decision after a long and thorough evaluation of the pup’s health and quality of life. Aren had been with Cpl. Stewart for the past ten years. A memorial honoring Aren’s life will be in the lobby of the Plainfield Police Department starting Thursday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Nov. 4. The public is invited to share thoughts and pay respects by writing in a memorial book dedicated to the K-9 during business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
