The Odessa Police Department is saying goodbye to a loyal partner and protector, K9 Jimmie.A news release said he was more than just a K9 — he was a constant companion, guardian, and Corporal Gabby Aguayo’s best friend. K9 Jimmie had a heart full of courage and an unwavering devotion that made him truly special. He stood by Corporal Aguayo’s side through every challenge, was always ready, and always faithful.“Their bond was one that words can’t fully capture, and his absence leaves an emptiness that can never be filled. Though her heart is heavy, Corporal Aguayo finds comfort in knowing that K9 Jimmie is now running free and no longer in pain. K9 Jimmie, you will always be missed but never forgotten. K9 Jimmie retired in 2020 and due to some health issues, passed away this morning. Rest easy, my friend,” the release said.
