K9 Heli laid to rest, honored by Derry Township Police
Derry Township Police said that a K9 who was supposed to retire next year has been put to sleep over a medical problem.A Belgian Malinois, Heli had a mass around his organs that was causing internal bleeding, police said.Heli and his handler, Officer Andrew Condran, had started working together in 2015. Heli was a patrol and narcotics detection canine, and he and Condran also supported the Dauphin County Crisis Response Team.“K9 Heli was a vital part of our department and valued member of our community,” township police said in announcing the dog’s death.
