K9 dies of heat exhaustion due to air conditioning failure
Idaho
An air conditioning unit that went out reportedly led to the death of a Post Falls police dog earlier this week. Mack, a 4-year-old Malinois shepherd, died of heat exhaustion, according to a press release. He had been with the department two years. Mack had been dropped off at a boarding facility for an overnight stay when the air conditioning system failed in the area where the dog was being held, the release said. “Please keep Mack’s handler and the entire K-9 team in your thoughts as we mourn the loss of Mack,” the release said. The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
