Carrollton community mourns loss of K9 Kilo
The Carrollton Police Department is mourning the loss of a K-9. Born in July 2013, K9 Kilo joined the Carrollton Police Department in 2014 and loved it ever since. Will Awalt since 2019. Kilo aided in more than 200 arrests and had over 500 deployments, including missing children, drug trafficking, and offender tracking.According to the department, Kilo was nationally certified in Narcotics and Tracking. He came in 3rd place in the National Narcotics Detector Dog Association competition for narcotics detection. “He loved to work and he loved to play. Kilo is already missed so much. He and Awalt were the best of friends,” the department said. Kilo died on Apr.10.
