Johnston police announce the death of retired K-9 Bono
Rhode Island
One Rhode Island police department is mourning the loss of a police dog that served “with distinction,” We report with a heavy heart that retired Johnston Police K-9 Bono has passed away Thursday. Bono came to the department in 2010 after achieving the high training standards set forth by the North American Police Work Dog Association. He was proficient in article, building and area searches, obedience, tracking, and aggression control, among other duties. Bono retired in 2012 after serving with distinction. K-9 Bono actively worked with the agency from 2010 to 2012. We appreciate and salute your service, Bono, thank you.
